Ashley Graham was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. Two of her sisters were raised together, and she suffered bullying at school regularly due to the large size of her legs. Graham was identified as having hyperactivity/attention deficit disorder soon following her graduation from elementary school. However, she was able to overcome it as well as other challenges in her early age. Graham was found by a talent agent when she was 12 years old in a Nebraska mall. Then, she was mentioned in "Glamour" publication's "These Bodies Are Beautiful at every size" in 2009. Graham appeared in the news once more in 2009, when she appeared in the controversy-making Lane Bryant commercial that ultimately was banned across the globe. When the advertisement was pulled from YouTube and was removed from the site, it had seen more than 800,000 views. As the controversy grew and she was in the Jay Leno show "The Tonight Show". Graham became well-known and the most sought-after plus-size women of today. Grande began acting and singing when she was young. She won the role of 13 at Broadway in 2008, and began to appear in small roles in television series. The role she played on Victorious, a Nickelodeon television show in 2010 was her biggest break. The character she played was Cat Valentine, an adolescent in a school for performing arts. When the sitcom was cancelled at the end of 2013, she was a guest in the spin-off program Sam & Cat (2013-14).
